Women Physicists' Conference 2020
News
Welcome to the website of the Women Physicists' Conference 2020!
The Women Physicists' Conference 2020 took place online for the first time ever this year. We welcomed about 350 participants to our varied programme. Only with the active participation of all participants it was possible to create exciting discussions, entertaining coffee breaks, interesting lectures followed by question and answer sessions, various workshops and a relaxed get-together. We would therefore like to thank all participants once again. We would also like to thank all those who helped to implement the online conference and made it possible. Further thanks go to Senator and Second Mayor Katharina Fegebank, who has taken over the patronage for our Women Physicists' Conference 2020
The local organization team
The Women Physicists' Conference (PT), which has been held annually since 1997, focuses on scientific exchange and networking among women in physics. Here we want to bring together all the different career stages at our conference. From bachelor students to doctoral candidates, from professors from different universities to female physicists from different areas of industry, all are invited to participate in the PT. The conference is not only about getting to know women from one's own discipline, but also aims to create networks beyond the discipline itself.
During the conference, we offer various opportunities to build networks, to participate in soft skill courses, to present one's own work as a poster or talk, to hear keynote speakers talk about their careers and work, to get to know possible career paths for female physicists and to make contacts in industry. Furthermore, an ideas forum invites to exchange ideas about gender equality projects, outreach projects and other projects for students, in order to promote similar projects at universities all over Germany and to collect new ideas.
